Make your money work for you!
All of us work very hard to earn money but forget to make that money work for us. Surprised!
I coach and mentor a lot of executives who want to leave their job and become self-employed or follow their passion but feel insecure thinking whether they have enough savings or will they be able to manage with their current savings. They have mostly invested their savings in traditional “risk-free” assets thereby not making their money sweat enough to get them a good return. I work with them to create a parallel income stream through proper financial planning and right investment strategy best suited to their requirement i.e., making their current pool of money work for them.
In today’s complex and regulated financial world knowing where to invest is becoming more and more important. Investors have to focus on aligning their investments with their financial goals with an aim to create wealth rather than just preserving it and being risk-conscious rather than being risk-averse. It’s important to choose the right product by understanding its structure, risk, return, tax implication etc. in the first place to avoid unnecessary churning in the portfolio subsequently. It’s important that the entire portfolio is reviewed regularly to ensure that each asset is delivering the desired return and is helping meeting the ultimate financial goal.
Investors need to be aware of all these aspects before investing and if they do not understand it well or find it too complex it is always good to consult an expert. A professional can introduce products, which can offer you higher returns while keeping your money safe. People don’t take professional help to avoid paying fees but end up loosing much more!
I had the privilege of sharing these insights with the members of the International Coach Federation (ICF) Delhi-NCR chapter last weekend. I also shared my personal story of how I am making my money work enabling me to follow my passion after a very successful corporate stint. I am happy that I was able to leave the ICF members with useful insights and some actions. I am delighted to receive wonderful words of appreciation:
“Thank you, Amit for making your session practical and jargon-free. Your opening quiz left me stumped and I’d better get into the crease before getting out completely on the wicket of financial planning”
“Thanks, Amit for putting up a great session. At least I am one of those who got self-awareness to start financial planning”
“Thanks, Amit, for a great session showing an enabling way to Coach with Passion”
“Thank you Amit….learnt a lot”
“Thanks, Amit for the wonderful session today”
“Thanks, Amit for a very insightful session”
“Thank you, Amit for an enriching session”

Regards
Charu
Hello Charu, I normally do these sessions by invitation. I am a financial consultant who works with clients on an individual basis. Let me know if I can be of any help.
Amit, it will be good to know more about the session – duration, minimum number of people, etc., so that I can share with some corporates I work with and send you an invitation. l.
Sure, Ravi. The session normally takes around 120 minutes depending upon the number of people and their queries. I have done sessions with a minimum of 12 people and I guess a session with 20-25 people would be ideal. We can discuss more on this depending upon the requirement.
